Wax content is important because it affects the viscosity and setting temperature of petroleum products, which can impact their processing, transportation, and use as fuel. Bitumen-The wax content of bitumen is limited to 2.2% for Grade A bitumen, 3.0% of Grade B bitumen, and 4.5% of Grade C bitumen. Fruit-Fruit waxes can be natural, such as beeswax, carnauba, shellac, or resin, or petroleum-based. Multiple waxes may be combined to achieve the desired properties of the fruit.
